The Talude neighborhood, in Loures, has been going through tough times: dozens of homes demolished, families displaced, and a daily life marked by uncertainty.
But amidst the chaos, a vibrant community persists — with children who continue to dream, play, and need space simply to be.

As part of the PLAY(THE)GROUND residency, the mais uno+1 collective invited us to bring an idea, a game, or a workshop to share with the children of Talude.

Cardboard Tower: In this workshop, participants worked together to create their own cardboard tower and houses using recycled cardboard, connecting the individual cardboard pieces into a construction and surface for their creativity. In the first half, participants, in small groups, prepared several cardboard modules. The modules are made by tracing and cutting out existing cardboard pieces, and making new incisions for windows and openings. In the second half of the workshop, participants designed, drew, and painted to customize their individual cardboard modules. The workshop culminates with the assembly of all the pieces of the individual modules, which, stacked and assembled, form a collectively created cardboard buildings.
